Katrina Sheena Smyth
Katrina's studio practice examines the nature of ritualistic performance in relation to its documentation. She is fascinated in the aura of performance, of ephemeral action, of the present moment: and with this, the transition of performance to record.
Her work draws on personal curiosities of occult philosophy, folklore, meditation and the Deleuzian discourse of Becoming. Exploring complexities of language and how we connect with each other, on a subtle and intuitive level, often through the medium of performance, spoken word & lens-based media.
